Brooke R. Ginty Appointed Solicitor to the Chester County Clerk of Courts

PHOENIXVILLE, PA: Baer Romain, LLP is proud to announce the appointment of our own Brooke R. Ginty as Solicitor to the Chester County Clerk of Courts.

Ginty’s appointment is representative of a sea change for Democrats holding office in Chester County. This year’s election saw four women, all Democrats, oust incumbent Republicans from their seats as Chester County row officers:

  • Patricia Maisano, Treasurer
  • Margaret Reif, Controller
  • Yolanda Van de Krol, Clerk of Courts
  • Christina VandePol, Coroner

This is the first time in the county’s history that Democrats will hold positions outside of the minority commissioner’s office. Also significant is the margin of victory in these races, in which all four candidates won by an average of 7 percent over their Republican counterparts.

Subsequent to her swearing-in, new Chester County Clerk of Courts, Yolanda Van de Krol, appointed Brooke R. Ginty as Solicitor. Her duties in this role will include: providing legal guidance on local and state-wide rules of procedure; aiding the Clerk of Courts in establishing relevant policies and protocols when necessary; and representing the Clerk of Courts in any litigation filed against the office or its staff.

“As a female Democrat in Chester County, I was proud to watch our Row Officers rise to victory and overturn four Republican-held seats. At that time, I never imagined that I would be selected by Yolanda as her Solicitor. It is an honor to work with her and First Deputy, Alexis Barsamian, who are two of the most intelligent, qualified, and thoughtful women I have ever had the pleasure of working with.”
